Cardinal Haul Road, Ohio
Client: American Electric Power |
Hull provided technical assistance and Quality
Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) observation, testing and
documentation associated with construction of a residual waste
landfill in Ohio. Although challenges included the highwall
along the landfill perimeter and developing adequate processing,
testing and placement recommendations for the existing minespoils
that were excavated and processed for use as subgrade and
isolation material, Hull was able to perform many value-added
services.
Detailed soil precharacterization sampling
and laboratory testing, preparation of a Best Fit Line of
Optimums (BFLO) for the soil liner material, and observing/testing
test pads to model construction techniques for the recompacted
soil liner were also performed. Hull has provided full-time
observation, testing, and documentation services for construction
of all landfill components and prepared information to be
used in the certification report.
