Red Bank Road, Cincinnati,
Ohio
Client: The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority |
Hull prepared the bid documents
and served as environmental remediator for this Clean Ohio
Revitalization Fund project, which included:
- Asbestos abatement;
- Removal and decommissioning
of utilities;
- Building waste and
residuals' removal;
- Building demolition
for more than 600,000 sq. ft.;
- Railroad rail and tie
removal;
- Miscellaneous surface
features and debris removal;
- Processing of concrete
slab and flatwork;
- Remedial excavation
and backfill of contaminated soils; and
- Groundwater remediation
and overall property-wide consolidation.
Construction costs initially
were budgeted at approximately $6.8 million. However, during
demolition, an underground complex of rooms was identified.
Hull worked with the client and regulatory agency to keep
the project moving forward, while determining how best to
handle the additional work. Efficiencies gained through the
bidding process offset changes to the scope of work, with
no changes to the original budget.
