Ohio Department of Transportation
Districts 4 nd 11 Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations
Compliance, Eastern Ohio
Client: Ohio Department of Transportation |
Hull partnered with Ohio Department of Transportation
(ODOT) as a task order consultant for all Bureau of Underground
Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR) corrective action projects
in ODOT Districts 4 and 11.
The contract focuses on design and implementation
of site assessment, free product recovery, and remediation
for three Underground Storage Tank (UST) systems in northeast
Ohio.
Hull provides the following:
- UST closure;
- Tier 1 and Tier 2 site assessments;
- Remedial investigation/pilot testing;
- Utilities coordination;
- Remedial design;
- Contractor bid package preparation and oversight;
and
- Coordination with the BUSTR office.
Project tasks varied by
site but generally include subsurface investigations,
technical report preparation, investigative-derived waste
management, regulatory interfacing and reporting. Subsurface
investigations may include logging soil borings, installing
monitoring wells and extraction wells, ground-water sampling,
slug testing, pumping tests, enhanced free product recovery,
remedial system pilot tests, and preparing reports.
Hull accelerated the free product recovery
at one facility in order to complete the assessment necessary
to implement an effective risk-based evaluation. The client
utilized Hull's expertise with the Risk-Based Corrective Action
(RBCA) process and participation in the UST Rule Development
to properly manage the projects where BUSTR compliance was
incomplete.
