Client: City of Akron, Ohio; Summit County Port Authority, Ohio; IRG Rubber City, LLC

Hull has completed significant environmental consulting activities, including work as a Voluntary Action Program (VAP) Certified Professional (CP), at the Akron Riverwalk Redevelopment Project.  Working closely with the City of Akron, the Summit County Port Authority and IRG Rubber City, LLC, Hull has completed the following activities:

  • Completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the 600+-acre project area.
  • Completed Phase II assessments, for the future Goodyear Headquarters/Tech Center A/Tech Center B project area and the Building 116 property.
  • Prepared two successful Clean Ohio Assistance Fund (COAF) grant applications in spring 2008 that involved a technical scope of work to complete Phase II investigations for the existing Goodyear Headquarters property for the Summit County Port Authority and to complete asbestos abatement and building demolition activities for the 99 Seiberling property for the City of Akron.  Hull was hired to implement both of these grants.
  • Completed extensive geotechnical work at the Alpha/Beta and Seiberling Landfill areas and completed Phase II work at the Seiberling Landfill.
  • Conducted pre-demolition/Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) survey of both the Power House and Building 116 areas and prepared successful Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund (CORF) Rounds 5 and 6 applications, which includes demolition of the former Power House and Building 116.  Hull was hired to provide CP services for the CORF Round 6 Project.
  • Prepared a successful COAF Assessment Grant for the Archwood North and South properties that included a work plan for Phase II assessment activities.  Hull was hired to implement this grant.
  • Maintaining an active role on the project team that includes participating in the bi-weekly project status calls.
