Hull || Services|| Electrical Engineering
Hull's Electrical Engineering Division specializes
in electrical engineering, energy
management consulting and control system design, and control
system programming for industrial and municipal clients.
Our electrical engineering division provides
a diverse solution for our clients with the ability to provide
energy and engineering services for
a wide range of projects. Hull's experience ranges from the
knowledge of utility company operations and power delivery
systems to the design of power distribution systems and control
systems within a facility. This experience allows us to advise
our clients of the options available to solve the problems
facing them on a daily basis as well as implement those solutions.
Alternative Energy
Providing opportunities to utilities to purchase power from
alternative sources for their renewable energy
portfolios and to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions makes
good sense for all businesses and residents. State and federal
financial incentives continue to increase momentum for studying
and implementing alternative energy
projects.
Hull works closely with its clients to identify
alternative energy projects. We work
with landfill owners and dairies to convert methane gas to
energy, are conducting a feasibility study to create hydroelectric
power from a power plant cooling water discharge, and helping
to complete siting studies and permits for wind energy
farms. In another example, Hull is designing a system to integrate
smart meter technology into utility operations to provide
added customer choices for electric usage and to aid in system
reliability.
Energy Management and Electrical Safety
Hull performs energy audits to proactively
identify energy saving opportunities
or diagnose and respond to specific problems in electrical
distribution networks. Based on the outcome of the audit,
Hull helps clients develop programs for implementing energy
saving and safety improvement projects.
Hull also provides electrical safety audits.
Compatible with other OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E is a basis
for evaluating and providing the means for electrical safety.
NFPA 70E lays the ground rules for safety compliance and employs
a continuous improvement process to ensure that the latest
procedures, technology, and training will be used to deliver
a comprehensive electrical safety program. Hull's NFPA 70E
/ Arc-Flash audits consist of single line diagrams, arc-flash
boundary calculations, signage and labeling, work compliance
manuals, and training support.
Electrical Design and Implementation
Hull's design services range from power distribution systems
to intricate instrumentation and control systems. These services
are applied to a variety of project types, from traditional
commercial and industrial operations to less traditional applications
related to alternative energy, brownfield
redevelopment, and environmental remediation.
As part of transforming
brownfield sites into new uses, Hull evaluates existing power
supply and distribution systems to determine cost effective
ways of adapting the former industrial systems to new commercial
or residential systems.
