48-Mile ORV Condensate Pipeline Construction Project

Multiple Counties, OH

An exploration and evaluation of the geotechnical conditions were made for the proposed 48-mile trunkline construction project, more formally known as the ORV Condensate Pipeline, over a multi-County alignment within Guernsey, Noble, and Washington Counties, Ohio.

The purpose of the exploration was to determine the subsurface conditions to the depths of the borings, evaluate the engineering characteristics of the subsurface materials for construction considerations for both open trench excavations and also directionally bored pipeline, and provide information to assist in the design and construction planning of the proposed trunkline.

Approximately 50 borings were distributed along the alignment that passed through heavily dissected plateaus of southeastern Ohio; crossing many ridges and valleys along the approximately 48-mile path.
