The Lakewood Local Schools Athletic Boosters spent years raising funds to install a new turf field at the football stadium.
After funds were secured and plans presented to the board, the district used the opportunity to perform a complete upgrade to the stadium.
Hull worked with the school district from the early development stages of the project and was able to ensure all stakeholders’ ideas were taken into consideration throughout the process.
Hull served as the primary consultant on the project and managed the improvements from concept through construction. Hull first completed a survey, preliminary layout, and conceptual renderings of the stadium for the district to use as exhibits in attracting public support. Hull then designed the entire site layout, which included grading, pavement layout, stormwater facilities, and utility services. Hull also developed a plan to use existing soils from construction to re-grade the shot put and discus areas just outside the stadium.
Due to the variety of expertise on the project, three primary contractors were involved in the construction: Track & Field, Bleachers, and Site and Building. Hull was responsible for bidding the site and building improvements but managed all three contractors through the entire construction process. Subconsultant JBA Architects, P.C. developed building plans while the track, turf field, and bleachers were designed and bid through separate contracts with the district.
