Hull has provided comprehensive engineering design, permitting, construction planning, construction quality assurance (QA) / quality control (QC), and operational assistance at this existing Class F Industrial Landfill facility in West Virginia since 2004.
At the onset of our work, we helped our client with time-critical permit redesign drawings for multiple disposal areas (~150 acres) that upgraded the site design to include a composite liner system. We incorporated a unique design feature that included the use of fly ash as structural fill beneath the composite liner system.
Additionally, Hull identified a vertical expansion opportunity that provided environmental improvements and obtained significant additional airspace over a 210-acre portion of the existing landfill. Our work also involved site-wide soil borrow characterization, upgrades to the site’s leachate management system, providing QA/QC services for over 100 acres of landfill development, and developing long-term operational construction and sequencing plans to effectively manage stormwater, contact water and leachate.
