Hull was hired to upgrade a rural wastewater plant, converting tertiary filtration from gravity sand filters to mechanical cloth disk filters.
The required upgrade of this 1.05 million gallon per day wastewater plant was necessary to ensure sanitary service to the 200+ residents of Mill Creek Estates.
The sand filters had a history of overflowing along with a variety of maintenance problems. The County had negotiated a plan for upgrade with Ohio EPA that included installation of a modern mechanical cloth media filter for the primary means of filtration, with the continued use of a portion of the sand filters for backup or overflow filtration.
An ultraviolet disinfection unit and replacement of the aging and undersized outfall sewer were designed. Hull performed the necessary field work, prepared the plans and specifications and submitted the OEPA Permit to Install Application for the improvements.
