Oil & Gas Flow-back & Produced Water Treatment

Eastern United States

Treatment of flow-back and produced waters for reuse in drilling operations is increasing.  Hull is providing technology piloting and reviews, siting design and permitting of treatment systems, both for mobile on-pad systems and for permanent centralized facilities.

Hull provided process engineering services for development and full-scale implementation of a zero liquid discharge (ZLD) evaporation process for produced water treatment.  Hull’s chemical engineer implemented laboratory bench testing, as well as on-site pilot testing to evaluate pre- treatment and post-treatment processes for the evaporator technology.  Hull provided permitting and process engineering for installation a full-scale treatment system at a confidential site for produced water treatment.

Design services included equipment selection, mass and energy balance computations, development of operational control logic, development of piping and instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams, design of building foundations and secondary containment systems, and process startup and optimization.
