Hull was hired by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission to prepare plans for the rehabilitation and widening of two pairs of mainline bridges on the Ohio Turnpike.
One lane was added in each direction over the bridges. Design included the addition of 6 new steel beams, reinforced concrete bridge deck, new elastomeric bearings at the abutments for new and existing beams, rocker and bolster design for the new beams and refurbishing the existing bearings, capped column pier, abutment extensions, and abutment slabs. An additional 1.5 miles of third lane roadway work was included in the contract. Plans were prepared on an accelerated 6-month schedule to meet construction constraints.
